In May, 2013, her artwork a ceramic tiger was chosen by the Clonakilty Town Council as a gift for the visiting President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins.
In his speech he describes Deirdre as:the talented Courtmacsherry artist Deirdre Keohane is testament to the investment Clonakilty is prepared to make in a cultural space that can be shared by all of its citizens; and to its desire to bring the arts right into the heart of the community, ensuring they can be shared by all.’
Presently, Deirdre is attempting to break into Canadian Art in Vancouver but is missing Ireland
