Deirdre Keohane, Painter

Deirdre Keohane is an award winning Irish/Canadian artist who moved back to Vancouver from Ireland.

Her art studio is located in the DTES where she works and gives private art classes to adults and children.

She is lead artist for the Vancouver Brigid Festival along with the Celtic Connection Newspaper

As well as painting, Deirdre volunteers on the Board of the Small Arts Grant Awards in the Carnegie Center.

 Her art is inspired from her time in Ireland incorporating the ancient history of the island with her own unique style

In his speech he describes Deirdre as:the talented Courtmacsherry artist Deirdre Keohane is testament to the investment Clonakilty is prepared to make in a cultural space that can be shared by all of its citizens; and to its desire to bring the arts right into the heart of the community, ensuring they can be shared by all.
